Rachel began taking dance lessons at the age of three, and over the years has studied various dance disciplines such as ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, lyrical, modern, contemporary, hip hop, acro, poms, and aerial. Rachel started attending dance competitions at the age of 7 and has received several regional and national awards at various talent competitions for both, her dancing and choreography. Throughout the majority of Rachel’s life, she has attended many different dance conventions across the country and trained under multiple world renowned choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman, Nick Lazzarini, Stacey Tookey, Ade Obayomi, Shannon Mather, and many more. She started teaching dance classes at Adams School of Dance at the age of 15 and has continued teaching ever since.
Rachel trained as a competitive gymnast and competed at USA Gymnastics (USAG) sanctioned meets where she earned many awards, the most prestigious being the title of Illinois State Balance Beam Champion.
Rachel has recently graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance. At SEMO she was enrolled in the honors program and was an exemplary student, graduating with a 4.0 GPA while undertaking a rigorous schedule. During her time there, Rachel was cast in numerous faculty and student pieces each year in both the Fall and Spring Concerts. She has also had her choreography chosen for multiple concerts as well.
Rachel is passionate about helping and encouraging students to reach their full potential as people and dancers. Her innovative and creative choreography challenges students to push themselves both stylistically and technically while showcasing their strengths. She is very excited to have the opportunity to teach and hopes to pass her love for dance on to children of all ages!
